What We Do
Natural rubber is a culture that we are passionate about, it is consistent with the Group's philosophy of promoting social, economic and environmental development in the country.
We have more than 2,000 trained employees who contribute invaluable to our differentiation from competitors worldwide. A series of good practices have been developed in the experimental fields of the Agricultural Unit. When implemented in the Group's plantations, other owners of natural rubber plantations are free of charge. The ultimate goal is to promote the development of the natural rubber industry in the region and to ensure product quality and homogeneity; Which is highly quoted in international markets.
We have developed nurseries in Guatemala which, to date, produce and sell annually about 1 million rubber plants. The nursery is distributed in three farms. It is estimated that by the end of 2014 it will increase to an annual production of two million plants.
Our genuine commitment to the environment has led us to responsibly manage the natural resources we use. We have recognized certifications such as Rainforest Alliance (RA®), Forest Stewarship Council (FSC®) and ISO 9001: 2008; Which qualify us to be friendly to the environment, to offer fair working conditions, to guarantee the proper management of the forests and to assure the quality of the processes.
We protect the natural forests, conserving more than 2,000 hectares of protected area in the Protected Reserve of Springs San Gil, in the north of the country. With this we promote the protection of biodiversity and natural resources, reaffirming our genuine commitment to environmental responsibility.
